Music School Development Programme

The music program started in 1996 under the leadership of Keith Moore, Abraham April and James Hannie. Perseverance hopes to involve the whole community in music, thus fighting alcoholic addiction, substance abuse and gangsterism in our community. We are constantly using former students to assist us with teaching new learners.

The annual program usually starts in April/May every year and continues right up until Christmas and sometimes beyond. Currently the program is conducted at the Eurecon Primary School in Connaught Road, Elsies River. Instructions are available for the various reed and brass instruments. The band started by focusing mainly on the youth by offering free music lessons on Saturday mornings

Vision
In the next 5-10 years the choir wants to establish a fully functional youth band that will compete and perform completely autonomous. This band will comprise of youth from all over the Cape Flats and surrounding Townships. It is our endeavors to solicit more funds and resources to extend our capacity and our involvement in our community.
